James Paul and Susan Ronfeldt met on the steps of the UT Student Union due to Jim’s black eye and a popular cigarette commercial, “I’d rather fight than switch,” and it became true for ever after that.

We experienced a blazing meteorite on our wedding night 9/17/66. Jim’s comment, “No one’s going to top that wedding gift!” We took it as a sign of a bright future together.

We have loved our life together, raising 2 fine sons: Trent and Wade and enjoying our 5 grandchildren. Through joining University Bible Fellowship (UBF) in 1988, we’ve grown in understanding the character of God and trusted him though Sue’s cancer in 2004 and Jim’s early retirement in 2005.

We have become spiritual parents and grandparents to many. Through Bible conferences, we have traveled to Germany, Korea, Russia, England, Argentina, France, etc.; and have friends literally all over the world. For our 25th we went to Hawaii (3rd time), for our 45th we went to Alaska, and we just returned from a Viking River Cruise on the Rhine for our 50th.

Our main revelation in life is that the only things that matter are relationships (people) and the only ones that will last forever are those in Christ. We thank God for his abundant blessings and continually growing our love for him, each other, and others.
