Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Thank you for your prayers for Peru. On this 28th and 29th of July, the Peruvians celebrated the Independence of Peru. Also on July 28th the President Oyanta Humala finished his term and a new President Pablo Kuckisnki started to govern Peru. The Peruvians have many expectations with this new President.

However, we wanted to study Hebrews 11:1-6, to learn faith in our God, and to put our hope in Him. We wanted to learn faith that pleases God, and to be men and women of faith in this generation. First, we had Bible study with 11 participants. The participants were Caty, Jorge, Fiorella, Kelly, Isabel, Kevin, Tatiana, Sandra, Esteban, Eugenia, and Efrain.

After that, we had the message, “The faith that please God,” delivered by Kely. After the message, we shared what we learned about the message. Our brothers and sisters said that faith is very important and decided to guard their faith in this world. Then, we ate traditional Peruvian food.

On July 29th, we went to a place about 3 hours away from the city of Lima and we had the first baptisms of Peru UBF. Caty and Jorge wanted to be baptized to obey the word of God in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Caty and Jorge married by faith. They married last November 28th, 2015 and now they wanted to be baptized according to the teaching of the Bible. So they were baptized in a river. We thank God for raising the first two disciples of Jesus in Peru UBF.

I realize that it is not easy to raise disciples of Jesus in the land of Peru. I have been living in Peru for 13 years. I only see my sins and weaknesses; however I thank God for using me and my wife to raise Caty and Jorge as precious disciples of Jesus. Now I believe that God’s word is faithful and his word will be accomplished. I believe that God will raise many disciples of Jesus through us if we only hold to and obey his word until His second coming.

Please keep praying for Caty and Jorge to grow to become the first shepherds of Peru UBF. Thank you again for your prayers for Peru. We pray that God may continuously use UBF for raising disciples of Jesus on all campuses in the world.

One Word: Let’s have faith that pleases God !

 In Christ,

Efrain.
