A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus 

“Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” (2Tim2:3)

We thank God for richly blessing the Hanyang1 UBF fall conference at Somang conference center at Gwangjoo on Nov. 7-8 full of gospel grace and with autumn favor. 

A total of 75 people attended the conference including 3 missionaries, 1 native shepherd and 11 new students.

All our coworkers praised and thanked God for providing us with such a wonderful and unprecedented conference with full gospel message and with such a beautiful conference environment with state-of-the-art equipment. Through the conference God raised 4 messengers and 19 symposium and testimony speakers. And each of our coworkers also prepared their symposium on "A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus" and shared it in divided groups, and they were renewed with a good soldier spirit.

Lecturers, symposium and testimony speakers are as follows:

Sh. Woojae Jung ( opening message- You Will be a blessing - Gen12:1-9), Sh. Hyunsoo Lee (Lecture1, A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus- 2Tim2:1-26- President of student ministry), Sh. John Jung (Lecture2- Faith is Confidence in What We Hope For- Heb11), Sh. Sarah Choi Jr. (morning devotion-You are the Christ- MT16:16).

Among the 19 symposium and testimony speakers Rebecca Jung, John Kim, Kimppeom Whang, Hyuckyu Kwon, sh. Hongjae Lee, Jaeho Jung and Chanyoung Oh shared their sincere and fresh testimonies and each made a decision to live as a good soldier of Christ that made all attendees moved. Especially Chanyoung Oh prays that he may go out next year and join the Ottawa UBF ministry (M. Samuel & Grace Yoon) in Canada as a worker during holidays.

Each evening program was well prepared with beautiful music and drama. The music was presided over by sh. Paul Choi. Sh. Noah Shin served a special Baritone performance, Sh. Jiae Jung played the Korean zither, Hyuckyu Kwon played piano, and there was a band performance by Sh. Paul Choi, M.Paul Kuper and Sh. John Jun.

There was a heart-moving and word-centered drama entitled, "A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus” directed by Sh. Samuel Chae ,and produced by Sh. Jinjoo Oh who selected the drama actors from among the new students (John Kim, Hyuckyu Kwon, Kipeom Whang,Rebecca Jung and Sh. Bumseok Kim and Sh.Hannah Yoon), and Sh. Monica Song and Jinjoo Oh also helped well with the drama preparation.

Especially we thanked God for our senior women coworkers who served the conference with all their hearts and offered a special song to God in the meeting with all their passion and spirit, and we are thankful for all our coworkers who served the conference with one heart.

We thank God for the missionaries who participated in our conference. They were M. DK, M. Maria Lee (China), M. Grace Yoon (Canada), and M. Paul Kuper (Chicago).

We thank God for the grace-filled conference and for listening to all our prayers for the conference, especially for helping our student leaders to grow one step further, upgrading their faith as good soldiers of Christ Jesus through this conference. We thank God for raising Woojae Jung and Rebecca Jung as shepherds for campus souls through the conference.

We thank God for bringing precious brothers and sisters, Songhee Chae, Youngsik Cho, Byungkil yoon and Winwin Lee to the conference and who were saved, as we had been earnestly praying for them to attend the conference.

We pray that God may continue to bless our fall semester and new year’s student ministry with full gospel messages through the book of Hebrews, thanksgiving message and Christmas message, and from the book of Malachi.
