On Oct19 Korea UBF held its fall staff conference with total 73 including 3 missionaries at Elisian resort at Kangchon in Korea.

During the conference we had GBS based on lecture 1 “Christ's Sacrifice Once for All” (Heb10:1-18), and on lecture 2 “Let us draw near to God with a sincere hearts and with the full assurance that faith brings” (Heb10:19-39).  Through these we deeply learned about the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice once for all and about that God wants us to draw near to God with sincere heart and with full assurance that faith brings.

Most of all we learned about the significance of making unity in one heart to love one another and encouraging one another,  not giving up on meeting together. We also realized that each staff member is so precious before the Lord and thanked God.

At the first evening there a special lecture entitled  “P. Yoonsun Park’s life that is fully devoted to Bible study” was given by Professor, Changyun Chung (Hapdong theological seminary).

In the 1950’s P. Park devoted himself to pursuit to Bible study with absolute attitude before God as like prophets did and finally he made his footnote of the whole Bible. It became basic Bible study materials for korean churches who were in spiritual wasteland of Bible study materials as like a great light shining on dark world. He concentrated on Bible study 8 hours a day. He confessed that his happiest time was when he was in the Bible study and was in writing his footnote. He had both stressed his students that to have a deep, deep and deepest Bible study and to pray to God desperately with all their heart as well.

By learning about P. Park's life that fully devoted to Bible study and to prayer all our staff members were greatly moved and it became new direction for them. At the end of the lecture the prof. Chung encouraged us all not to look at difficult situation of the Korean church but to go back to the Bible because that is the key to resolve all the problems. In this we renewed our identity of UBF shepherds as we serve Word centered ministry. Though our ministry is slow to grow as we go back to the Bible but there is true hope in the word.

At the end Sh. David Kim(Korea UBF director)encouraged us all to have a deepest Bible study and to pray desperately as P. Park did. He also urged us to strive to help one another as we have staff Bible study meetings and not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, encouraging one another - and all the more though situation is difficult and to serve campus pioneering work.
