Cape Town UBF (S. Africa) held a Bible Academy 2015 on Aug. 29-30

We thank God for blessing our Bible Academy over the weekend! Thank you so much for your prayer support! 

Our Academy was held the last weekend of the 3rd quarter. It seems everyone was busy up until the weekend and beyond. There were reports, tests, workshops, work pressure, etc. But in the midst of it all, Saturday and Sunday we could put everything aside and come to God to listen to His word. In total four brothers and one sister attended. Our theme was 'YOU ARE THE CHRIST' based on Matthew 16.

Brother Mondli led group study well pointing to Jesus' identity and mission. In his testimony he confessed Jesus as his Christ and how his understanding changed over the years. First, Jesus was someone who could benefit him and solve his problems, but as he grew, the Father revealed His Son to him as the Son of God, his personal Savior who died for his sins. 

Shep. Desmond from WITS was a great blessing. Based on Matthew 16 he helped us to think about the power of self that prevents us from following Jesus. He pointed us to the cross of Jesus as the only power making self-denial possible. 

In terms of sisters, one sister attended. When we went outside after SWS she said the world looks fresh and green. Her heart was refreshed and renewed with God's word.

Personally, at this time I have much pressure at work with fear coming in my heart, but through this Academy I could newly look at the cross of Jesus and believe my Savior suffered and died to set me free from the bondage of sin and fear. Now I want to honor my Savior by standing strong in the work place.
