“Then the man said, ‘Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.’” (Genesis 32:28)

Belize UBF had the second summer Bible Conference from July 31-August 2 at the Mountain View Camp with the title, “Your Name will be Israel.” Since we went to Guatemala international Bible conference, some questioned whether we should have another conference this year. Some who had received much grace wanted to have another conference so that the grace might continue.

We began to pray and prepare. Washington UBF sent a short term missionary Hannah Ku and Msn Tunde Adebola who delivered Sunday message. He also helped the messengers and made a good environment. Last year’s cook could not come because of her own shop. She told us a week before. Then Dillon talked to his grandmother who was willing to help, and Shennelle’s mom volunteered to be her helper.

At first, the camp director could not find the bag with the speaker and power cables. This would have made the conference difficult since there was a lot of open space. But in the morning of the first day M. Sarah decided to look for it once more with prayer. God opened her eyes to see the bag.

God helped us to serve messengers through Bible study and checking their first drafts and praying for them. God raised two LT speakers and three group Bible study leaders who prayed to honor the word of God and serve the group members humbly. It was hot summer, and the campus looked empty. We just prayed for a registration of more than 20. The total attendants were 23. God answered our prayers and helped us. We learned that help comes from God.

On the first day (July 31), Dillon delivered the first message with the title, “Stay in this land” (Gen 26). His personal testimony was heart moving. He said through 1:1 Bible study he made a decision to leave his local church for campus mission. Sometimes he waited for a bus for two hours to attend Sunday worship. At that time only three people attended; he and M. Moses and Sarah, but he stayed and now here he was delivering message before 23 people.

The second day morning message was delivered by Charles Requena with the title, “God has seen my hardship.” He suffered much to support himself. He worked hard as a teacher and college student for seven years. He graduated this year with honor. God has seen his hardship and blessed him.

The main message was delivered by Darren with the title, “Your name will be Israel.” He understood Jacob’s struggle with humans and with God. He himself struggled with God and made a decision to accept God’s calling for campus mission. In the evening, Dianell delivered a message entitled, “Joseph’s faith and stewardship.” He learned to imitate like a child. He delivered the message humbly and clearly. He learned that God has been with him.

Then, two life testimonies were shared by Aaron and M. Hannah. Aaron was saved from his meaninglessness but his left ear became deaf. He was picked on by others. But he found God’s purpose for his life. Hannah’s father was called home when she was two years old. She testified that God has been her Father. Then, Charles presented Belize Mission Report 2015, and M. Tunde shared Mid-Atlantic Conference report.

God is working for world campus mission powerfully. The third day, Msn Tunde delivered Sunday message entitled, “A new Heaven, a new earth.” God prepared a beautiful eternal kingdom for all his people who are changed to Israel, whose sins are forgiven by the Lamb. We have this glorious hope because God saved us and made us his people. God blessed our conference with the wonderful words of life. We could learn the love and hope of God who are with us with great patience and wants us to become the fathers and mothers of faith like the patriarchs. We thank God for the prayers of our world mission coworkers and their support. By M. Moses Chang.
