Dr. John Jun's CME at  Manila chapters (Dr. William Altobar)

We arrived at Manila on April 28th. Once Mother Barry and I had come to visit Manila Chapter in 2005 when they held a Christmas Bible school and worship service. We now see the surrounding environment of UBF center area has been tremendously changed into a new town with many new buildings from an old and poor town when comparing to its environment 10 years ago. Manila UBF center building also became a brand new building consisting of two or three storage buildings.

Manila UBF pioneering work had begun by Dr. William Altobar and his wife Sarah in 2005 and about 40 sheep attended their SWS. They have raised many disciples and established 3 more pioneering chapters. The three chapters are: Sh. Timothy Ipapo (University Belt), Sh. Jonathan Roytos (UBF Laguna chapter) and Dr. John Talavera (Antipolo UBF). University Belt and Laguna UBF SWS both attending numbers are 15-20. Among them Antipolo UBF ministry is most active through the Holy Spirit. They are constructing new center building (Plottage 1652.90 SF = 500 pyoung and Building 991.74 SF = 300 pyoung for both first and second floor) even though their pioneering work is just in its fifth year. (Dr. William helps about all the progress of the construction works.) Their regular SWS attending number is 45 including 30 students. Dr. John Talavera (Antipolo UBF) is a professor at Univ of  Fatima (physical therapy). He is full of Spirit and passion. I believe that he will grow as a great disciple maker in the future.

As for me I had Ephesians (two lectures) Bible study with the chapter directors and their wives (total 20) at Antipolo center and they shared their testimonies. And I gave a message at SWS based on Ephesians 1 both at the Manila center and at Antipolo center.

Dr. William Altobar works at national health care department in Manila. He has devoted himself to the campus pioneering work while also making his ministry self-supporting. He served God and his flocks with all his heart like St Francis. Though he had two children in his family he adopted 4 other children who were in a desperate situation and raised them to be men and women of faith as his own children. He became a good example of faith to his disciples in campus ministry and of raising disciples. Therefore his disciples also are devoting themselves to serve God and his flocks in the campus. I believe that is because there is such a devoted servant, Dr. William Altobar who is like a saint and because there are also good disciples growing under his influence.
