UBF Cape Town held our Easter Bible Academy on April 4 - 5. Our theme was ‘The Power of Jesus’ Resurrection’ based on 1 Corinthians 15. In total six students from Cape Town attended. Shepherd Desmond from WITS flew down from Johannesburg to encourage and support our Bible Academy.

In preparation for the Academy we studied the first part of 1 Corinthians 15 already the previous Sunday. So the Saturday of the Academy we could focus on our key verse: “But indeed Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Cor 15:20). After group study shepherd Desmond shared his testimony based on John 12, “Jesus the Resurrection and the Life”. Then each one wrote a testimony and shared it based on 1 Corinthians 15.

On Sunday morning we had group Bible study & worship service on 1 Corinthians 15:24-34 ‘Christ must reign’, followed by a reciting competition. Those who did not memorize participated as judges. Overall, everyone enjoyed it and there were big smiles as the prizes were handed out. Afterwards we went to the beach for fellowship. We departed with joyful hearts. 

Our prayer topics are:

1. We thank God for blessing our Easter Bible Academy, helping us to believe that indeed Christ has been raised from the dead
2. We pray for our leaders: brothers Mondli, Surprise and Masingita to grow as disciples of Jesus
3. We pray for our sisters’ ministry to grow
4. We pray for our Romans study to learn Gospel faith
