The Faith of the Centurion
Matthew 8:5-13

When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
Read verses 5-6. Who came to Jesus this time? What did he want Jesus to do for him? What does his request show about him? What can we learn about the way to help suffering people?
Read verses 7-10. What did Jesus plan to do? What did the Centurion say to Jesus? What did Jesus say about his faith? In what way do you think Jesus considered his faith to be great? How can we learn to have great faith like that of the centurion's?
Read verses 11-12. What can we learn about God's plan of salvation? In what way was the centurian's faith like the faith of Abraham (Roman's 4:3)? What will the end result be for those who do not have this faith?
Read verse 13. What was the immediate result of the centurian's faith?
