Question

God Made a Name for Himself

Nehemiah 9:9-14 Key verse 9:10b

“But you made a name for yourself. That name remains to this very day.”

  1. Read verses 9-10. How did God’s people suffer in Egypt (10; Exodus 1:11)? What did God do for them (10; Deuteronomy 5:15; 15:15)? What can we learn about God who saw and heard their suffering?

  2. Read verses 11-14. What did God do for his people at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22)? What happened to the Egyptians that were chasing them? How did God lead his people in the desert (Exodus 13:21-22)? What did he do for them at Mount Sinai (Exodus 20:1-17)?

  3. Read the key verse, verse 9b again. What ways did God use to make a name for himself? Why is it still important to learn these things these days?
