Dear Co-workers,

At this staff conference we especially want to pray for all the UBF families living in or near the Pacific Northwest. From 2018, our annual staff conferences will be in January in the Chicago area.

On March 25, 2017 at the Chicago UBF Sunday worship service, Pastor Ron Ward awarded our 13 CBF teachers with certificates of achievement for completing eight months of education in teaching and communication skills. It was a significant landmark in raising teachers who can serve second generations’ spiritual education and to equip our one-to-one Bible teachers in the ministry of teaching regardless of class size or student numbers. This education for teachers is the one of our Teachers & Parents Education (T&PE) for our growing second generation ministry.

  • 2016 Annual Review

In 2016 we studied the book of Mark for Fall and also started John for Spring semester.  Over the summer we also started a DVD series called the Alpha series. It was focused on reaching non-Christians or very young Christians.  It was a very good tool to get many non-Christians or even some of our members who only go to Sunday service to attend Bible study. We are continuing our study of John’s gospel for the upcoming semester.

M. Samuel Lim had a successful operation.

Three arteries of M. Samuel Lim's hearts have been seriously blocked.

The operation is a kind of replacement surgery called 'coronary artery bypass grafting'.

M. Samuel Lim was transferred to different Hospital and had a successful operation on April 20.

This time is very hard for him, little Esther, Daniella and M. Esther Lim.

Please pray for M. Samuel Lim and his family to be strong in Jesus' grace and love.

DEVOTION TO THE WORD OF GOD

Ezra 7:10 “For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.”

Remains in me

John 15:1-8  Key Verse 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
