A WISE LIFE; A THANKFUL LIFE
Ephesians 5:15-20 Wednesday, November 4
Key Verse: 5:20

1. Make the most of every opportunity (15-17).
God's people should spend their lives doing what God wants them to do. Our lives must not be wasted in aimless worldly activities because the times in which we live are evil. To do so is to be foolish. Each day and moment should be seen as an opportunity from God to please him. We must find the Lord's will for us and then obey it. This requires wisdom to discern our times and to discern God's will for us.

2. Be filled with the Spirit (18-20).
Worldly people turn to wine and wild partying for happiness, but Christian life is more joyful and exciting. God gives every Christian his Spirit as a gift. When we are filled with God's Spirit, our hearts are full of songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. We can encourage each other with music and songs. It is not easy to always be thankful, but we can be thankful when we fix our eyes on Jesus.

Prayer: Lord, please fill me with your Spirit so that I can be wise and thankful in every situation.

One Word: Always give thanks for everything
