1. Spiritual warfare (10-12).
Though Paul had been addressing relationships in the previous verses, our enemies are not people. Our enemy is the devil, and our battle is a spiritual one. The devil is scheming to destroy us. We cannot fight him in our own strength. We need the Lord's strength and his mighty power to overcome.

2. God's armor (13-24).
God has given us proper armor and weaponry in this spiritual war. We must put it all on. The belt of truth keeps us steady and balanced. Jesus' righteousness over our hearts protects us from temptation. The gospel of peace on our feet allows us to go anywhere to preach. The devil assails us with the flaming arrows of fear and doubt, but the shield of faith guards us. The helmet of salvation gives us assurance of victory. The word of God is our one weapon. With the full armor protecting us, we must pray at all times for our brothers and sisters and for ourselves.
