OUR REDEEMER--THE LORD ALMIGHTY GOD
Isaiah 47:1-15 Friday, November 20
Key Verse: 47:4

1. The Holy One of Israel (1-6).
Babylon represents all the proud nations and sinners throughout the generations. They showed no mercy to God's people. Their pride led them to think that there was no one besides them. God Almighty would humble them. God is the Redeemer of his people Israel. He is the Lord God Almighty, the Holy One of Israel.

2. Neither magicians nor astrologers can save (7-15).
The fall of Babylon came because they did not acknowledge the Lord God Almighty who chose them as his instrument. Instead, they relied on magic spells, sorceries, and the counsel of astrologers. The Almighty God would punish their pride.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to repent of my groundless pride. Praise Jesus who came as our Redeemer, our Almighty God.

One Word: God punishes the proud
