¡°Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.¡± (Mark 6:41)
Nicaragua UBF was pioneered on March 2006 by M. Juan Kim¡¯s family. He arrived at the country of lakes and volcanoes. The Nicaraguan people of Latin America are very pure. At first, M. Juan Kim had a hard time adapting to the hot climate but now the missionaries have adapted well and they like fresh air more than air conditioners.
They began the work of God renting a house in front of the UNAN, living with their family and serving the sheep. But due to economic causes, they had to move every year, and also change many times the place of worship, from the university class, the house of intern of the sisters, to scholarship¡¯s patios of UNAN.
In the first conference on the winter of 2006, many sheep came. But everyone eventually left, so the missionaries felt very disappointed in the sheep. However God left a remnant, sister Maria Yasiris. She is a faithful partner of the family of M. Juan and Rebeca Kim. Many times there were no sheep but she kept her faith and is now a shepherdess who feeds Sister Rosa, Fadia, and invites various sheep. Later God sent a sister called Sandra (who has a degree in agronomy).
She works attending a business of Cyber and Photocopy with her sister, in front of the university. She was like the Samaritan woman who had great thirst for love. But she found Jesus as her true love.
Now she is a shepherdess who feeds 5 sheep; Brother Mariano, sisters Lidia, Tamara, Jessica and Gladis: her sister Mayra is also a faithful partner; her parents are now Christians and by one person, her family is saved.
During 3 years, the family of the missionaries served the sisters with their bible study, they did not have male sheep and in every Christmas worship and conference only women danced. But God, this year, sent 2 faithful men called Jonathan and Mariano, who are students of Chemistry.
In this year¡¯s Easter conference, 3 pairs of brothers and sisters danced miraculously. God is raising the male sheep in his time. After the Easter conference of this year 2010, the missionaries began the program of discipleship that is 12 steps of basic study on the life of Jesus and then sharing sogam, on Fridays.
God blesses this reunion with Ss. Sandra, Maria Yasiris, Mayra, sister Fadia, brothers Jonathan, and Mariano. Six disciple candidates are growing.
What they really gave God was small, 5 loaves and two little fish of prayer, bible study and a sacrifice to open their house as a church, and invite us to a little lunch. Especially M. Rebeca is dedicating herself more to weekly bible studies, in total 10 teams. God blessed many more than they thought. He blessed their spiritual fight and sacrifice.
Many sheep suffer from small because of the extreme poverty and family problems, divorce of parents, and the sin of fornication they are like sheep without a shepherd. Sheep need the love of the shepherd and more workers of the gospel. We are praying to raise an Abraham, a Sara, and a church home. We are also praying for the spiritual growth of the faithful brothers for the people of Nicaragua.
At the same time we are praying for the remodeling of the Center UBF – Nicaragua. God bless our five loaves and two fish constantly and raise men and women of faith.
