The UBF education camp for the 2nd generation missionaries was held from July 5 to 9, 2010 at the Korea UBF headquarters. There were 18 attendees including one native shepherdess from Singapore (Shs. Wahwah). The other attendees included Eunice Lee (L.A., USA), David Park Jr. (Baltimore, USA), Rebekah Ham (Guatemala), Danny Hong (Rehigh, USA), David Jung (Toronto, Canada), Daniel Kwon (Vancouver, Canada), Daniel Kim (Hamilton, Canada), Becky Jung (Algonquin, Canada), Josephine Lee (Chicago, USA), Grace Yoshiba (Chicago, USA), Jonathan Hong (Wuppertal, Germany), Grace Joo. Jr (Sweden), Martha Kwon (LA, USA), Maria Cho (Bolivia), Hannah Yoon (Waterloo, Canada), Sarah Cha (Humber, Canada), Grace Cha (Humber, Canada).
On Monday, there was a lecture on Korean History by Sh. Elijah Moon (Jongro 7, Korea). After the lecture, the participants visited Kyoungbok Palace, the National Folk Museum and Insadong street.
On Tuesday, there was a lecture on UBF History by Shs. Helen Kim (SNU 2, Korea). After the lecture, the attendants visited the Missionary Cemetery at Yanghwajin. After the visit, the 2nd gen¡¯s enjoyed a boat ride at the Han River.
On Wednesday, the 2nd gen¡¯s visited Seoul National University (SNU) and a Korean Traditional Music club. They watched the members of the club playing traditional Korean musical instruments. Lastly, they visited the 63-story building.
On Thursday and Friday, the 2nd gen¡¯s visited Kwangju UBF. At Kwangju, there was a lecture on ¡®The outline of the whole Scriptures¡¯ by Sh. Nehemiah Kim (Kwangju, Korea). After the lecture the 2nd gen¡¯s had an open discussion about ¡®future UBF.¡¯ After this the 2nd gen¡¯s visited Baekak UBF and Chosun University. In the evening, all of the 2nd gen¡¯s shared their 3-page life testimonies. Some even shared their life testimonies with tears and everyone felt the grace of God. Through this the 2nd gen¡¯s became close friends in Christ and promised to pray for each other continuously. After sharing their life testimonies, there was a group Bible study on John chapter 1 led by Shs. Helen Kim.
On Friday, the 2nd gen¡¯s visited Pastor Sohn, Yang Won Memorial Museum. Pastor Sohn is known for adopting a student who killed two of his friends and for later becoming a martyr. From this visit the 2nd gen¡¯s learned about Pastor Sohn¡¯s great love and his martyrdom spirit.
Through this camp, the 2nd gen¡¯s renewed their identity as 2nd generation missionaries and also became good friends in Christ who are praying for each other.
