1. Study of Books of 1 and 2 Samuel
God granted us his word through two books of Samuel during 2009 and helped us to study them deeply. We learned through those books that God only is the King of our lives and we should live a life of absolute obedience to His will. The dynamic life of David taught us a good example of the life of faith. We could confess that God is the sovereign God of history and our God. I pray we may have a spiritual value system in God and live an obedient life to his word during our lifetime.
2. Disciple making ministry
During 2009 Latin directors¡¯ conference in Guadalajara, Mexico, Missionary Juan Seo introduced a disciple program in Venezuela. We applied their program in Brazil among Brazilian disciples during four months from June to September. Sisters Jeany and Ataiena volunteer to participate in this program with humble hearts. Then, in the disciples¡¯ conference in November, they were established as UBF shepherdesses and disciples of Jesus. I thank and praise God who made all missionaries to be one to serve this disciple training program.
In this year 2010, we plan to continue this program with five disciple candidates (Erika, Carol, Moses, Joshua, Isaque). We want to begin the program in February and pray to have more advanced program with best content. I trust in God and pray He may establish 12 disciples through this disciple training program.
3. Conferences
In January, we had a 3 nights and 4 days conference with three chapters. In April, there was an Easter conference near San Pablo and in November we had a 2 days disciple conference. I thank God who blessed our sheep to receive his word and grow as disciples of Jesus through these conferences.
In Christmas, there was a missionary¡¯s conference and we shared the grace of the word. Above all, we had united prayer time for the New Year¡¯s direction and the summer Bible conference.
4. Self supporting ministry
The family of Msn. Mateo Kim had been having financial problem but they began to be self-supported through running a clothing factory. We could see the hands of God that helped them to learn faith through self supporting. I thank God who helped the family of Msn. Mateo Kim to have many experiences and to set a base for self supporting job in spite of many difficulties.
Missionary Josue Ahn finished his doctor degree in Biology in the University of San Pablo and has been working as post-doc researcher for last three years. Now he concluded his work in the university and began to look for a new job. I pray God may grant him a proper job.
5. Special thanksgiving topic
Missinaries Abraham and Sara Hwang visited Sao Paulo in March. I¡¯m grateful to them for they served our Brazilian missionaries with the word and prayer. Missionary Abraham Hwang taught us about the gospel faith and necessary attributes as self supporting missionaries. His advice was very practical and helped us to have direction to fight physically and spiritually.
6. The things that I learned from God in 2009
I realized that I must humble myself to the ground to serve sheep and co-work with the missionaries. Also I learned to find the causes of problems from me. I pray to learn humbly from incarnated Jesus remembering his grace. I pray and want to recognize God¡¯s sovereignty always in this year, take my cross and follow Jesus.
I repent of not having been able to serve well the sheep with one to one because of self supporting mission-centered life. I repent because couldn¡¯t prepare Sunday worship service messages with deep meditation in the word and study of Bible.
My key verse for 2010 is Luke 9:23, ¡°Deny myself and take my cross¡±.
My prayer topics are
1) Personal deep Bible study and life of prayer
2) to establish 12 disciples and serve disciple training program
3) Language study and entire Bible reading once a year
7. 2010 Sao Paulo chapter¡¯s key verse and prayer topics
John 21:15 ¡°Feed my sheep¡±.
1) to establish 12 disciples and one Abraham¡¯s family
2) Disciple training program - establishment of 5 disciples
3) 30 SWS attendants, 40 1:1 Bible studies
8. Strategy to doble our ministry
1) to find a way to make every coworker to participate in the ministry
2) each disciple may engage in one to one ministry through fishing with missionaries, specially with full-time women missionaries.
3) to have three conferences during year and specially support second gen missionaries through a conference for them.
