St. Louis UBF Bible School News at Wash Univ. by M. Isaiah Lim

You Must Be Born Again!

The Bible School was held at the Washington University in St. Louis(WashU) in Feb. 25th. We had prayed for the Bible School from about a month before the day that we might love Jesus and feed his sheep based on this year¡¯s key verse of St. Louis UBF, John 21:15. At first, we could not find any proper room. But God moved one student named Andrew¡¯s heart to arrange a quite and comfortable for our group Bible study.

M. Paul had mind to challenge the post-modernism of the Wash U students with the truth of God in John 3:1-21. Like Nicodemus, Wash U students are intellectual and ambitious. They seem to need nothing. However, in order to see and enter the kingdom of God, they must be born again of water and of the Spirit. This cannot be earned by human intelligence or wealth but only by faith in Jesus Christ. We made some invitation cards and went reaching out. Each of our coworkers worked hard to invite students. 3 regular young disciples (Ben West, Andrew, Haley) and 3 new sheep(Ben Alexander, Kevin, Sojung) attended. Ben West, who is a senior in mechanical engineering, gave a wonderful 5 minutes message. He prepared the message first even though he had homework due next day. He even brought one of his classmates named Ben Alexander. Andrew brought his younger brother Kevin, who is a handsome freshman. Through Andrew¡¯s good influence, Kevin¡¯s attitude toward God¡¯s words was changed and he now studies the Bible with M. James Lee. M. Mary Choi¡¯s student Haley Ford also joined the meeting even though she didn¡¯t sleep enough the previous night due to her heavy school work. Sojung ( UMSL 1) was also invited by M. Monica Suh. The group bible study went smooth and all the attendants enjoyed the word of God. We thanked God for sending new students and hoped that we might have this kind of group bible study more often on campus.

Above all, God blessed our challenging spirit for Wash U students with words of God. By this challenging spirit our faith was strengthened and we tasted the joy from restoring the identity as God¡¯s solders who challenge this post-modern world which denies God and God¡¯s truth. We pray that we might keep this fighting spirit and have group bible studies more often at Wash U. May God raise 12 disciples of Jesus from among Wash U students.

One Word: Challenge Wash U students with words of God!
