2010 Namsan UBF New Year Conf. News

2010 New Year Conference

We held our new year conference on 25-27th December 2009 at Nursing Training Center in Yongin, Kyungki-do. There were 145 attendants including eight freshmen and five someone else at this conference. First day, we had ice breakers to relieve our feeling at an amusement park. It's the first time in us and made us get to know each other well.

The first message was delivered by Shepherd Pyong bum Kim based on Luke 2:1-14 titled, "The Birth of Christ." The second one was delivered by Shepherd Daniel Lee titled, "Live by the Spirit(Gal 5:16-26)." We learnt about we must struggle to be mature and grow up ourselves first to embrace and help sheep before we meet them. If we don't have this mutuality and happiness like Jesus, we may be drained of our power. It gave us a chance to examine not only our outside but also inside. So we had a time to think about the fruits of the Spirit based on the message and to have a decision for our New Year's purpose and direction. And the last message was delivered by Shepherd Yong Suk Kim titled, "The Faith Training of Elijah. (1KI 17:1-24)." on Sunday.

Also, we had a great time to share our testimonies. Especially, our student leaders and many sheep shared their testimonies also. Moreover, we had a beautiful time to listen to the music by playing our Namsan Orchestra supported a conductor, who is Shepherd Joshua Lim from Jongro 2. Moreover, there was very exciting entreating programs such as dance, skits, and a rap song. Finally, we had a special time which is a baptismal ceremony and holy communion. There were eight people accepted Jesus as their savior. It was such a graceful time in Jesus.

The 2010 Namsan center's key verse is as the same last year, "Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.(JN 4:36)." It gave us a direction to sow the word of God in our student's heart continually. Also, our second key verse is Galatians 5:22,23, "But the fruit if the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." So our goal for this 2010 year is to bear a spiritual fruits in us by living by the Spirit. Finally, we pray for us to be mutual and grow up more by living by the Spirit through this year so that we may become a person of influence to have a true happiness in Jesus.

These days, we study of Elijah in 1 Kings. So through this bible study, we pray for us to learn Elijah's faith and power and the way to live by the Spirit through his life.

The leader's meeting in Namsan

Since 1998, our leader's meeting in Namsan has started. We have a vision to make leaders to have a balance of spirituality, intelligence, and virtue. It's consisted of many programs, reading, studying English, faith training, and playing soccer to build up our relationship. Also, we studied the world and Korea's history. Through our meeting, we can see our young leaders getting grow up and they became from sheep to leader in Jesus. Finally, we have a plan to go to a trip and to expect a great time in Jesus in February.

In Christ,
Shepherdess Sun Ok Han
