Guatemala Mission Report
I¢¥m doing fine here in Guatemala. We¢¥ve been real busy here preparing for our conference on July 11th and 12th. The key verse for the conference is Romans 8: 37 ¡§No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.¡§ We are working on a symposium of Bible characters, doing dance and drama, and praying for two messengers: Shepherd Dimas and Shepherd Edwar. Throughout this past month, I¢¥ve been teaching English (I wish I was better at it). Most people here seem to want to learn how to correctly pronounce words instead of grammar. Students here tend to work full time and also study, so it makes it hard to make a specific time and day to study in a big group. Maybe the closest thing to a set schedule is Mon to Thurs at 7PM to 8PM.
Another thing that has been occurring is that we started a Sunday worship service in English and a group Bible study in English on Fridays. All of the missionaries, shepherd(ess) and sheep have been real hospitable. I¢¥ve been going to USAC campus to fish with shepherdesses at least three or four times a week. It¢¥s been a great way to really get to know them and encourage them. I¢¥m really thankful to the Lord because He has been giving me wisdom and His strength. I can¢¥t say it has been easy to get used to Guatemala City. There is a lot of crime, especially in the buses. Missionary Ana Ham and Missionary Josue Ham have been so kind to me, and looking out to make sure that I¢¥m safe. Their three daughters are a great joy and are so loving.
The only thing I can say is that the Lord is an amazing God, and I really think He brought me here for many reasons; slowly revealing them to me as the days go by. The ministry here is small and has its problems, but I can see how God can greatly use this ministry.
