Uruguay UBF had a Summer Bible Conference on Jan 22-25. It was not easy to find the conference place to the last moment. But by God¢¥s grace a place was given where the construction is still going on. We were all together 14 including 3 USA guests.
In the last 3 years of pioneering ministry by one house church there were many excited moment as well as difficult times. This time also we had many promising members who would come, but at the last moment many declined to come. We were somewhat downed but the word of God encouraged us to have ¡§faith in God¡§ That was our SBC title. ¡§Have faith in God.¡§ We drove about one hour on Thursday afternoon and immediately began our meeting. M. Jose Park delivered a message, Ïf you believe, you will see the glory of God.¡§(John 11) His message was full of spirit and power. We could believe that we will see the glory of God in Uruguay by having 100 Bible teachers among Uruguay students soon. The next morning main message was by M. Goheun Park. She delivered well prepared message perfectly memorized. Her message was ¡§Have faith in God.¡§ (Lk 23) By faith she followed her parents leaving all privileges in Argentine as a medical students. She lost two years here in Uruguay and had to change her major to Pharmacy. But by faith she overcame all her difficulties and became a very stable and exemplary second gene missionary. We had delicious Uruguay lunch and every wrote testimony and shared it.
On Friday night S. Nieve ( a mother of a student member who went to Spain ) delivered her message ¡§Jacob¢¥s prayer¡§(Gen 32) followed by M. Maria Ahn¢¥s life testimony. She shared it in Spanish for the first time in her life. She also led a group Bible study in Spanish. Saturday morning message was delivered by M. Graciela Park. She knelt down and prayed a lot for her message. Her message titled ¡§Father forgive them¡§ Her message based on Luke 23 moved all our hearts. She herself delivered it with much tears of thanksgiving as well as repentance. Both M. Goheun and M. Graciela¢¥s messages were so wonderful that we could see a great vision for our second generation missionaries around the world. We all wrote testimonies again and shared in group. In such a way of deep and long group bible study as well as good and inspiring messages the conference was full of joy and happiness.
Evening message was prepared by Dr. Joshua H Choo from Texas, a medical surgeon in 3rd year residency. His message on Acts 1:8 was very inspiring. He came to support Uruguay Summer Bible Conference in spite of his board exam right after this conference at the end of January. He obeyed God¢¥s direction to put spiritual house church establishment ahead of his medical study. So he arranged all impossible schedules and came for the conference. But listening to the heart moving messages and intense love of God of the pioneering family members of Uruguay, his heart was moved and convicted. He found he was putting his house church even ahead of God¢¥s mission. Because Jesus was declaring to put world mission as of first importance as well as the most important prayer topics and life goal. So he accepted Jesus¢¥command and decided to put the first priority to receive the Holy Spirit and preach the gospel to the end of the earth. Therefore his message was very powerful and full of grace. In order to reach that point there was M. Graciela¢¥s behind the scene prayers and help in translating his message. They coworkerd so beautifully siche he arrived in Uruguay. In such short time they put their heart together and coworked to make his message powerful and meaningful in both languages.
On Sunday M. Jose Paul Ahn delivered his closing message about ¡§Do you love me?¡§ from John 21. We were so much moved how this one house church cowork like one body and mind. Goheun and Graciela served all musics. The Uruguay members also were coworking with stewardship. We were confident that we would be able to see great work of God in Uruguay through their faith in God.
