Key verse for 2009 "See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright-but the righteous will live by his faith."(Habakkuk 2:4)
Our key verse for 2008 was Isaiah 54:2. "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords; strengthen your stakes." I thank God for enlarging our campus gospel ministry and self support ministry as well during 2008. I pray that we find out his graceful work, render him all thanks and make new direction for 2009.
I. One day-Easter Bible academy. (21 March)
Before Bible academy, we divided 1Corinthians 15 into three parts and studied first two parts. At Bible academy, we studied the last part of it, 1Corinthians 15:50-58. God invited 6 students. Many campus students cling to material and physical lives. So we prayed that they could accept the true hope and glorious victory in the resurrection of Jesus. Sister Bonaka (nurse 4, university of Botswana) struggled hard to prepare her representative testimony. She sought acknowledge of men and worldly happiness. But she could not be happy, because her mother has lived with another married man. She learned true hope in the resurrection of Jesus. After academy, her boy friend left her. And one night a thief broke into her room with knife, stealing cellphone and money. But she has kept her faith. During the academy one word touched my heart. "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."(1Co15:57)
2. Campus fishing, 1:1 Bible study ministry and Sunday worship service.
Almost everyday, Missionary Deborah and me went to the campus of university of Botswana for fishing and Bible study. Every morning, Msn Deborah had to be with three kids for their home schooling. And afternoon, she went to the campus. We could meet new students continually. We prayed to God for sending 10 students to worship service. Sometimes, we had one student only. However God blessed our small prayer, sending 11 students. Some of them have attended their church. But they liked personal 1:1 Bible study and came to our worship service.
3. Pretoria spring Bible conference (26-28, Sep, 2008)
Msn Deborah and 7 students participated in Pretoria spring Bible conference. For this conference, they prepared drama based on John 11:1-44. They had school test, however they came to my house in the evening and rehearsed drama for two hours 2 or 3 times a week. They learned absolute attitude for God's work. Through the conference, they all wrote Bible testimony, revealed their lives and came to have spiritual desire for Jesus. After the conference, they came to Bible study and worship service more sincerely. Through the conference, one sister learned to answer with 'Amen'. So whenever she received grace from the message of worship service, she replied loudly, saying 'Amen'.
4. Saturday sogam meeting.
After the Pretoria conference, we began Saturday sogam meeting with them. We could meditate on the gospel of Mark and prayed for worship service together.
5. One week-common life with two sisters.
We are preparing new year Bible conference for 2009 which will be held in January 9-10. But campus began summer vacation and all students went to their hometown. But two sisters Bonaka and Ivy stayed at our home for one week one by one. At 6 am, we had prayer meeting, wrote daily bread, and shared it. We prepared and prayed for the coming conference together. Ivy worked hard for symposium with a book of prayer. And Bonaka struggled to write the message of 2nd lecture.
6. Taekwondo business extension.
My Taekwondo company was registered and accredited by Botswana government. It was really the graceful work of God. Registration and accreditation required around 40 items respectively. God helped me to prepare and submit required documents several times. God moved the heart of the officer, so that she cancelled some of them and taught me how to write it in detail. Finally God gave me registration and accreditation. It took three years. Through this, the problem of residence and work permit was solved. This year God blessed Taekwondo business and made it grow two times more than last year.
