Seattle Fall Bible Academy News by M. Philip Won
¡°I am He¡±

Key verse: John 4:26
¡°Then Jesus declared, ¡°I who speak to you am he.¡±¡±

Thank and praise God for blessing Seattle Fall Bible Academy on November 20th! God blessed the Academy with five University of Washington students. By God¡¯s grace, our ministry was registered as a school club and we could hold our Academy at a student union building. As a direction for the new semester, Seattle UBF coworkers prayed for the Fall Bible Academy to raise up our Bible students as disciples of Jesus. Our two prayer topics were as below.

(1) Raise up shs. Sarah Leingang as a messenger.

Shs. Sarah Leingang joined our ministry from September after graduating from IIT, Chicago. She works full-time, but she gladly accepted to write and share a message based on John chapter 4. She received message training humbly with all her hearts. She struggled with the words of God until the day before the Academy. Through the message, she shared how much Jesus loved her and set her free from the pains in the past. She delivered her message with such a conviction that all the attendants could open up their hearts and listen to the words of God with sincere hearts. May God continue to use shs. Sarah as a shepherd for the broken souls in the University of Washington!

(2) Raise up Trevor and Jeff as testimony sharers.

Trevor was one of the three Bible students who attended the Purdue Conference last summer. To help him to grow in the word of God, we encouraged him to write a testimony based on John 4. In his testimony, he shared that sports and good grade were his Jacob¡¯s water but they couldn¡¯t quench his thirst. He confessed that he was truly satisfied when he studied the Bible every week and he prays that he may grow up as a disciple of Jesus. Jeff is a third year Pharmacy school student. He has studied the Bible since 2004. Even though he had a big exam before the Academy, he prepared his testimony. He shared that the Bible study gives him a true satisfaction and power to overcome his heavy school study. Other attendants were Jolene and Paul. Paul started to study the Bible last September. When he was invited to 1:1 Bible study by women missionaries, he told them that he was praying for a Bible teacher and when he opened his eyes, our missionaries were standing before him! Jolene received much grace from the Purdue Conference and she has been studying the Bible faithfully. We pray that she may continue to grow in the word of God and become a mother of prayer for the University of Washington.

I thank God for Seattle coworkers who really worked hard for the Bible Academy. We had united prayer meetings on Tuesdays. Women missionaries met on campus every Wednesday and Thursday morning to build an altar of prayer and invite students to the Academy. Msn. Sarah Song drew a beautiful picture of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. All the attendants were moved by the picture. Msn. Livingstone Park practiced a special song every night and sang a heart moving song for the Academy.

We thank and praise God for answering our prayers and raising up shs. Sarah as a powerful messenger and Trevor and Jeff as testimony sharers. Through the Academy, we learned that we must come to Jesus and drink the living water every moment. In this way, we may continue to confess that Jesus is our true Messiah and true husband. God may raise up 12 disciples of Jesus out of the University of Washington!

One word: I am He.
