Since the beginning of this year due to new leadership, South Korea stopped sending aid to North Korea, including much needed fertilizer. The United Nations World Food Programme estimates that from March to June, 1 million people might die from starvation due to a small 30% return in harvest this past season.

At the end of this year, after approval by the UBF Board of Directors, UBF chapters worldwide will offer their Christmas offerings to North Korea by sending them corn once again.
