Praise God who provides everything we need when we decide to do his will and teach the Bible. I arrived in Mongolia on August 9 and was greeted by some Mongolia 1 coworkers. Since then I had the chance to go to the countryside for 3 days with Todoo's(Bob's financee) employer Feed the Hungry International http://www.fhi.net/ where I spent time with at least 50 Mongolian kids from the countryside.
They had some Bible study and played games in a very remote place. Some herders lived by and had a huge flock of over 500 sheep, goats and horses. On the last day we got 2 live sheep for lunch. I didn't spend much time looking for a job. Initially I went to the American School. Later I dropped in on "Talk Talk English" to be an English teacher. Today I went to an international school on the far east side of UlaanBaatar. Some of the people who run the school are Turkic. Anyway, without any teaching license, I got a job as a teacher for either ESL or Geography/History (depending on what someone else decides) for pretty good pay as far as I could expect especially for a starting job. I will go in Friday for orientation and then start classes next Monday!
Our wedding date is scheduled for September 20. Please, pray for us to be a wonderful house church and a missionary family for Mongolian young teenagers and college students.
My prayer topics:
- Learn Mongolian language
- Teach the Bible
- Form a house church with Shepherdess Todgerel (Todoo)
