A silver missionary, Monica Barry's Pioneering testimony

Praise God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Hello, my name is Monica Barry. I am blessed because Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior!

My life key verse is Mark 8:34 ¡°If anyone would come after me, he must deny myself, take up his cross and follow me.¡± Thus far, God¡¯s word worked and guided my life of grace and holy mission to be a mother of prayer like Monica to St. Augustine for campus students at NW, NE, Triton, COD, College of southern Idaho, and UIC. I was blessed to retire two years ago from my job as a lab tech. At that time. God called me back to serve as a nanny to one house church, and then to live with Mother Barry. I thank Mother Barry for all she has done for me. Though I wanted to take care of Mother Barry, she always think that she was taking care of me. Of course, she is right. So these two years of common life with Mother Barry is like that of living in the kingdom of God in spite of my many shortcomings.

Now at age 65. I am so blessed to hear God¡¯s call to pioneer Alpine, Texas. When an email came in June for a lab tech position. I was greatly surprised, but I declined because of Purdue Conference preparation. Then in mid July, same lab director email me again. I prayed for God¡¯s will at that time. Then after the conference, I was offered the job. So, here I am on my way tomorrow to go out to pioneer Sul Ross State University. It was founded by Lawrence Sullivan Ross in 1912. It has 2000 students and is part of Texas University system. On the same day, I accepted the job offer, God provided an apt two blocks from campus and gave me two sheep. May God help me to hold on Matthew 28:19,20 as my key verse for doing God¡¯s work at SRSU. My prayer topics are to feed twelve sheep, and to raise one Abraham of faith for his glory.

I would like to take this time to thank you all for your prayers. Especially I would like to thank Mother Barry, Msn. Grace Lee, Dr. John Jun, Dr. Joseph and Esther Chung, Dr James Joung and fellowship coworkers, msn. Sarah B Choi, shepherdess Yvonne, Pastor Kevin and family for your labor of love and prayers for me.

Thank you Pastor Ron for serving me wonderful words of life every Sunday. May God bless our Fall ministry in each campus. Thank you!

One word: By faith, deny myself, serve my Lord Jesus at SRSU
