Gwangju 1 Summer Bible Conference Report

Gwangju 1 Summer Bible Conference Report

Gwangju 1 UBF held a Summer Bible conference at Samchully Retreat Center, Nonsan, Korea, from July 11th to 14th, entitled ¡°The First Love, The Impression.¡± They prayed that they would restore the first love with Jesus and work harder for the Lord. Each messenger prepared their messages wholeheartedly and their messages were heart-moving. The messages were Hosea 11 (The Burning Love of God), John 8 (The Non-condemning Love), Luke 7 (Much Forgiveness, Much Love), Mark 5 (The Healing Love), Matthew 27 (The Love of Opening the Door of Heaven), Matthew 28 (The Love of Calling Us Disciples), Galatian 5 (Live by the Spirit).

Sh. Woong Park lost his calling as a shepherd 19 years ago and wandered around the world. However he attended the last Summer Bible conference and restored his first love with Jesus. His message was powerful and his wife received much grace and decided to attend Sunday Worship Service.

Professor Choo, the grandson of the late Reverend Gichul Choo, emphasized to hold on to the Gospel of the cross. He cried testifying the martyrdom faith of his grandfather and many shed their tears while listening to his testimony. Sh. Barnabas Kim pointed out in his lecture, Galatians 5, that they had to live by the Spirit who lives in them, not by selfish desires since they were crucified with Jesus. Through this conference not only sheep received the Gospel of the cross but also leaders turned their eyes to the cross and decided to live by the Spirit. At Festival Night, a performance about the Reverend Gichul Choo and Praise Worship were touching.

40 sheep out of 170 attended. M. Ab, Sarah from C nation, M. Josephine Choi from Moscow and M. Samuel Chang, M. Hannah Kwak from USA attended and had good fellowship with them. M. Ab family and M. Josephine Choi will stay for a month.
