Seattle UBF News and Prayer Topics by M. Philip Won

From last January, Trevor Power started to study the Bible with me. Trevor brought his girl friend Jolene Olson to 1:1 Bible study with Msn. Hannah. They are freshmen at the University of Washington. Though they look okay outwardly, each of them has inner wounds in their hearts. Thankfully, they have pure and sincere hearts to learn the Word of God. God worked powerfully in their hearts and they purchased air line tickets to attend the Purdue Conference! May God bless their desire and help them to meet Jesus personally through the conference and live as his disciples!

Chris has studied the Bible faithfully since last year. Although Chris is working really hard every night to support his tuition, he is fatalistic because of failing his school classes. I pray that he may attend the Purdue conference with a sincere desire to meet Jesus deeply and get the vision of God on his life.

We have also studied with Jeff, Jake and Cade. Jeff is an old sheep. He faithfully studies the Bible, but it seems he enjoys listening to the word of God, rather than obeying. I pray that he may accept one word of God and make a personal commitment to Jesus. Cade Cannon is a graduate student, majoring in anthropology. He started to study the Bible with me last year. Last December, his sister passed away. After then, he suffered from depression and didn't come to the Bible study. But recently, Cade responded to my email and I could meet him at school by chance. Cade is interested in Middle Eastern language and culture. May God bless Cade meet Jesus and God may use him for the work of God in Middle East region!

In addition, Msn. Esther Park is helping two Korean nurses. Each of them has deep sorrow and needs much love and the Word of God. Andrew, (13 yrs old, the son of one Korean nurse), started the Bible study with me. He reads 5 chapters of the Bible before he goes to bed and prays for his family without fail. His parents divorced this year and he was sad, but now he looks better and better by the healing power of God. I asked him what his dream for the future was, and he answered "A veterinarian and Bible teacher!"

Serving people these days, I am thinking about Mt 11:14. "In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." God is giving us hearts to love little ones. I learned that what God wants us to do is love and serve little ones one by one with all our strength. Please pray for us so that we may have the heart of Jesus and serve little ones with all our hearts!

A week ago, we visited Portland UBF: Sh. Jason & Cymbrie Schooler's family with four kids:. Sarah, Hoppy, Annya, and Noah (from left to right in the first picture). They have studied the book of Ezekiel and Sh. Jason delivered a message on Ezekiel 21.

I always receive so much grace from Sh. Jason Schooler's message. He is such a great messenger! The first picture is the one that we took together on April 27th in front of Sh. Jason's house. On the right side, Jacob and Gretor are sheep in Portland UBF.

God sent us a new coworker from LA. Msn. Abraham Song got a job in Bellevue (near Seattle). His family will join us in July. Thank God for giving us a new missionary family! Second picture shows Philip, Hannah, Trevor, Jolene, Msn. Abraham Song, Livingstone and Esther Park (from left to right). We took it today at our worship service place (renting a room at a community center). Now Seattle UBF has three families: six missionaries, four 2nd gens, and our Bible students. Please pray for us so that we may serve the work of God with the heart of Jesus!

Our prayer topics:
1. For Trevor, Jolene, Chris, Jeff, Jake, Cade, Andrew, Mijin, and Jiyoung.
2. 10 1:1s a week, 8 SWS, 10 Purdue conference.
3. John's gospel studies
