2008 India UBF (New Delhi) Easter Conference Report by Sh Abraham Nial

We thank God for blessing us to learn the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ through his suffering, death on the cross and resurrection through our Easter Conferences (Mar 21-23, 2008) at JNU & DU (North) centers respectively. At JNU Center total 44 coworkers and growing disciples participated. On Good Friday intern shepherd Robert Wilson Bhatra (PhD student, DU) delivered the message of Jesus¡¯ cross entitled, ¡°Jesus was crucified for our sins,¡± based on John 19:6b-51. On the Easter Sunday, fulltime staff shepherd Abraham Nial delivered the message of resurrection entitled ¡°The Risen Christ¡± based on John 20:1-31. God used the two messengers to be powerful witnesses of Jesus¡¯ death and resurrection. On both the days coworkers and disciples studied Bible, wrote and share their testimonies in groups. Through the testimonies we could renew the grace of Jesus and our mission to be his witnesses among campus students. After testimony sharing on Friday, we watched the video lecture of Dr Paul Hong, ¡°Double portion of your spirit¡± available from the UBF TV. March 22 (Saturday) being national holiday due to the Hindu festival of Holi could be used for fellowship with growing disciples (Mighty Warrior Team & John Team). They gathered from the morning, wrote their testimonies and shared. In the afternoon we watched the movie Passion of the Christ which vividly depicts how Jesus bore unimaginable sufferings to the end and died for our sins.

DU (North) Center had Easter Retreat on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. To prepare this retreat all the shepherds and growing disciples gathered for early morning prayers. God accepted their prayers and sent 33 members, including 16 brothers and sisters, who attended Easter conference for the first time. Professor shepherd Samuel Palaka delivered the Good Friday message, ¡°God¡¯s Holy Love (Mk 15)¡± and professor shepherd Dr John Angam delivered the Easter message, ¡°Jesus is alive (Mk 16).¡± All those who participated newly from non-Christian backgrounds (including one muslim student) realized that Jesus is living God unlike many idols and mortal men they had worshipped. We thank and praise God for blessing us to receive the grace of Jesus and worship the Risen Lord. Post conference, we pray to diligently witness the Risen Christ through our one to one Bible studies. We also pray to prepare the up coming May Disciples Conference (May 23-25) with resurrection faith and raise up disciples among our growing brothers and sisters, both in JNU and DU(North) centers. We also pray that God may bless the Purdue International conference abundantly.

Thank you for your prayer and love.
