What is RSS?
RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites. RSS-aware programs called RSS aggregators/readers are available for free downloading. A RSS aggregator/reader can help you to keep up with checking its RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them.
1. Using PC software
A RSS aggregator/reader software can be downloaded from the Internet and be installed on your computer. This will keep updating the Announcements and World Mission News section automatically. Attached (How_to_use_RSS_aggregator.doc) is an example of how to use RSS on your PC.
2. Using Web programming (for web servants)
Web servants can use the RSS feeding to display up-to-date Announcements & World Mission News on their web sites. For example, please visit http://northwestern.ubf.org. The World Mission News section on the front page is using RSS and is automatically updated whenever there is a new posting on the Announcements or World Mission section of http://ubf.org. (See the picture above) If you have any questions on how to display it using web-script language, please email ubfwebdev@gmail.com.
